Bottom-fermented – unpasteurized. It stands out with a full body, distinct bitterness, and a smooth, rounded flavor thanks to the presence of brewer’s yeast.
Inspired by old recipes from the days when beer was delivered to mountain lodges before winter.
VEJR, like all Svijany beers, is brewed using the traditional double-decoction method. The main fermentation takes place in open vats, after which the beer matures for over a month in lager cellars at around 2 °C. The finished, filtered beer is re-fermented with freshly fermented wort – known as “rings.” After a short fermentation, the beer matures again, this time directly in barrels at 2 °C, giving it a unique character and taste experience.
Premium Czech hops from the Svijany Brewery hop fields in Polepské Blata are used for brewing. Floor-malted barley from independent, small Czech and Moravian malt houses shapes the beer’s final character. Crystal-clear water from the depths of the Bohemian Paradise, drawn from the brewery’s own wells, completes the flavor perfectly.
Together with Svijany Brewery, we’ve crafted VEJR beer for you.
Cheers.
God bless good fortune!
